The Appeal
It’s likely that even the 205 GTI’s engineers can’t pinpoint exactly what makes it so, so good. There’s something otherworldly, magical perhaps, about the way this light, nimble car enthrals the driver.
So you want one. And, we suggest, you should want this one. It is a desirable Phase 2 non-sunroof model that has been subjected to what the seller describes as a ‘nut and bolt’ restoration including refinishing in silver. It began life as a 1.6 but now runs the larger 1.9L Mi16 motor that has been dyno tested to 150bhp at the wheels. 1.9 wheels and leather interior complete the picture.
Recently fitted with a new Mi16 ECU and sold with a fresh 12 months MOT, this is a delectable example of one of motoring’s most delightful cars.
