The Appeal
The R107’s reassuringly solid engineering and construction makes it perfect to really use and enjoy. Case in point - this 1988 V8 R107.
It has covered a remarkable 205,000 from new. For Mercedes-Benz’ bulletproof M117 engine that is barely run. But it does mean that this car has been regularly maintained and should therefore prove reliable for the buyer. Since 2019 over £9,000 has been invested across the structure, mechanicals and running gear.
It was resprayed in 1998 in fetching dark grey metallic, including the matching hard top. The tidy interior is finished in beige leather and is fitted with the desirable optional factory rear seat. There are a few signs of age and use across the car, but this is not intended to be a showroom queen - it is a car to use and enjoy, ideally relishing that torquey 5litre V8.
A recent service plus new shock absorbers and work to the brakes, and a long MOT ensure this top specification R107 is ready to use and enjoy.
