The Appeal
If the R107 SL was to excel stateside, Mercedes-Benz rightly predicted that American buyers would want a bigger V8. Europe made do with a 5.0-litre engine at the top of the range, but Americans got the 560 SL, featuring, you've guessed it, a 5.6-litre V8.
The gamble paid off. The SL earned the nickname "the German Corvette", and sold well in America, just as its 'Pagoda' predecessor had. These 5.6-litre cars are a rare sight outside of the USA, so we're delighted to offer this smart example

"The last owner had it resprayed, and the seats recovered. It runs, but roughly, and needs engine work, and also the veneers could do with remaking; the seats are recovered, and the car presents well other than the veneers. There is no rust."

- Built in 1988 for the American market
- In February 2017, it arrived in Dubai
- Later that year, it was transported to the UK - arriving in November 2017
