The Appeal
Everything from its sheer size to its fine, sporty trim indicates that the R107 was meant for LA - and it's impossible to deny that the American market responded in kind. This was a roadster that was huge across the pond, so much so in fact that Mercedes-Benz soon rolled out the 560SL, a more muscular variant specifically to impress the extra-European market.
This particular '88 560SL has been imported to the Netherlands from the dry, corrosion-free state of Arizona, which is no doubt the reason it's such a grand looker. It's been converted to European headlights and fully serviced already, and now only requires registering in Europe.
