The Appeal
Summer is fast approaching, so no doubt you’ll already be on the lookout for a convertible to enjoy the warm weather. We urge you to consider an R107 SL - a car we’re no stranger to at Car & Classic as classic SLs remain perennially popular.
This late example, a 1988 300 SL, is particularly enticing with its galvanised body shell along with better suspension and improved brakes and the desirable M103 3.0-litre straight-six. It’s also complete with its matching factory hard top - an oft-mislaid accessory.

The history file is substantial too, with a vast collection of invoices and numerous service stamps in its original Mercedes-Benz booklet. Superbly presented throughout and in very good overall condition, this SL would be a great addition to any garage.
