The Appeal
It’s hard not to look at an XJ-S without conjuring the word ‘effortless.’ These big, long and low GTs make the business of getting from A to B supremely easy, whether winding down Cotswold byways or barrelling down the outside lane of the M1.
No wonder that they are popular with enthusiasts. That is a far cry from their reception at launch in 1975, a change that is entirely down to cars like this one - the V12 HE. The 1980s saw major improvements in quality, the introduction of the ‘high efficiency’ head for the 5.3L engine and a more luxurious, chrome-trimmed specification.
This car is smartly painted in Oyster metallic with a good Doeskin leather interior. It has covered 85,000 miles and comes to market with a good history file documenting regular servicing and maintenance.
The seller acquired the car in 2021 to join his classic car collection. He has used it sparingly but treated it to improvements including a new headlining and recent major service that saw all fluids changed.
The car will be sold with a new 12 months MOT. A great example of one of Jaguar’s best.
The vendor writes:
“It a very smooth car to drive, I love how little effort is needed to sit at motorway speeds.”
