1988 Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 V12 Convertible

Highlights

  • Good condition all round
  • Valid MOT till 18.08.2023
  • Low mileage

The appeal

A controversial offering upon release, the Jaguar XJ-S has matured like a fine wine and is now a highly desirable classic. 1988 saw the inclusion of the convertible with newly strengthened bodyshell and handsome lines. The XJ-S had completed its transformation and cemented its spot in Jaguar fans hearts.
This XJ-S has been owner by the current holder for 2 years who has used it sparingly after regretting selling a similar one a few years previously. It is reported that the car is in good condition and drives beautifully and due to other commitments, the car is now regrettably up for sale.

  • The black hood is reported to be smooth to operate and is in good condition, the rear window is clear and free from creases. There is a small section on the top of the hood that looks to be a crack however it looks to maybe have had a repair. We encourage you to take a look through the photo gallery to check

The Mechanics

  • V12 engine is reported to be in great working order and the seller reports it to drive very nicely
  • Visual inspection shows visible pipes, lines, and wires to be in good condition with no exposed wires or split hoses
  • There are no signs of recent fluid leaks either on the unit or under the bonnet and the main components all have their painted covering showing that they have been loved and cared for in recent years
  • Bodywork in the engine bay is in good condition too with nothing obvious jumping out as a cause for concern
  • Underneath, the Jag looks to be in good order too with much of the underseal still being present and all components looking to be in good condition too

Summary

Purchased by the current owner who was persuaded by its great condition and V12 engine for a trip down memory lane, this Jag is a fantastic long-distance cruiser with one hell of a soundtrack to boot. A silver lining to this regrettable sale is that this Jag will continue to delight into its next adventure.
