- Presented in very good overall condition, in the correct Dolly colour scheme
The Appeal
The humble Citroën 2CV put rural France on four wheels and has become a symbol of France the world over. Making effective use of tiny air-cooled engines, front wheel drive and exceedingly pliable suspension. Its simplicity was born out of wartime austerity, but it remained part of Citroën’s range until 1990.
Here we have one of the later examples, a Dolly from 1988. It’s been in present ownership since it was two years old, used by the vendor to teach their sons to drive. It then languished unused in dry storage for the next 24 years, before being unearthed and sent for some restoration work at Totally 2CV near Romsey. Now in very good order, both mechanically and cosmetically, this Citroën awaits its third owner.

Summary
Everyone should experience a 2CV at some point and we enjoy how this one taught the vendor’s sons to drive. Getting to grips with their unconventional and agricultural controls is all part of the fun and it’s quite remarkable how accomplished that suspension is.
This partially restored example is in great order. With such low apparent mileage and with just two owners from new, this is a really nice example of the iconic 2CV.
