The Appeal

You often hear people compare the Mini to a go-kart - but this one by Z Cars takes that idea to a whole new level…

When you look at what’s been done, this Mini has in effect become an oversized go-kart, with a rear-mounted, chain-drive motorcycle engine, six-speed sequential gearbox and ultra-wide wheel track. Built for the racetrack but also road-legal, this most mighty of Minis is a seriously trick piece of kit. The vendor notes that it is “incredibly fast”, and when you look at the specs, it’s hardly surprising.

Power comes courtesy of the revered (and feared) Suzuki GSXR Hayabusa engine, a compact four-cylinder DOHC unit that produces almost 200 horsepower in factory form. As the photographs show, there’s bespoke subframes, carbon fibre-a-plenty, a full roll cage and an abundance of safety equipment.

As a track day weapon or brilliant hill climb/sprint car, this Mini would be an absolute blast to drive. If you think you’re brave enough, we wholeheartedly recommend you consider adding it to your garage.
