The Appeal
The Mk2 Golf GTI arrived into a very different world to the original. Everyone was in on the hot hatch act. It took Volkswagen a little while to realise, but when it did the result was definitive: the 16V.
The new multi-valve head catapulted the Mk2 back to the front of the hot hatch fray. It was as agile as it was quick and for many enthusiasts remains the best example of one of motoring’s greatest hot hatches.
Good, unmodified example are in demand for all those reasons. Here is one. An £11,000 restoration across the bodywork and mechanicals in 2021 means it arrives in very good condition.
With sparing use since that work was completed, the buyer gets to benefit from all tat hard work. A long MOT to April 2025 - with no advisories - cements the impression of a very good example of a hugely entertaining car.
