The Appeal

There aren't many off-roaders with the enduring popularity of the Suzuki Jimny. The SJ410 was born out of the purchase of the Hope Motor Company - a tiny little Japanese carmaker that had been fiddling with the concept of a small off-roader. Suzuki saw great potential in the project, and clearly it proved a strong shout - the Jimny is near-globally beloved, with characteristics distinctly perkier than its contemporaries thanks to the compact wheelbase. It was rather like a Japanese mountain goat.

This 1987 car proves exactly why - with its robust 970cc petrol engine, high and low ratio box, selectable 4-wheel drive, and a 4-speed manual gearbox, it was made for tackling tough terrain. The fact it's a lovely bright red example with a working patina, of course, helps capture the Jimny's characterful personality.

This handsome little car has been kept in the same family for some twenty years, and has been recently treated to some suspension springs. We understand it's a fine, highly usable car that's ready and waiting to charm the lucky buyer.
