The Appeal
If you’re in the market for a R107 SL then you won’t be spoilt for choice. If you’re looking for the very best, then this handsome Nautical Blue car is surely a contender.
Where to start? There’s the diminutive mileage of under 41,000 miles. The three keepers from new. A recent Bulkhead Inspection Certificate from The SL Shop. The full service history, mainly and also recently by Mercedes-Benz main dealers. The £11,600 invested in 2021 across bodywork, mechanics and running gear.
In short, it is very compelling. Enthusiasts will also recognise that it is one of the later, post-86 cars that were galvanised from new by the factory. It all adds up to a very good example - the vendor describes it as concours - of a popular classic convertible.

The R107 is a popular and plentiful, which means that good cars really need to stand out. This is such a car. The appeal begins with the Nautical Blue paintwork, which is complemented by a dark blue roof, matching hard top and cream MB Tex interior. It is all in the sort of conditon you would expect of such a low mileage car.
Irrespective of the sparing use, the car has been lavished with attention. Most recently this has included £11,600 invested in the bodywork in 2021, including refurbishing the wheels. A 2021 certificate from specialist The SL Shop confirms the condition of the bulkhead and carries a three year warranty.

The file shows substantial maintenance, much of it by Mercedes-Benz main dealers and Teh SL Shop. In 2019 the engine and gearbox were extensively overhauled an in 2021 there was major work across the mechanicals, including the brakes.
The full service history - which is detailed in photographs - includes a recent service by a main dealer in April 2023 at 39,574 miles. This car comes to market with excellent mechanical provenance.
