Look, you already know the R107. This boxy, slab-sided roadster has just about defined an era for Mercedes-Benz, and is rightfully heralded as one of the industry's finest roadsters. By far, however, the most desirable are the post-1986 facelifted cars, which offered improved rust-proofing, improved suspension, slightly bigger brakes and standard-fit ABS.

This 1987 example is exactly that - and what a looker it is. Champagne gold paintwork, with a chocolate-brown MB-Tex cabin. It's a timeless combo for a timeless car - one that lives and breathes luxury.

Hi The previous owner was understandably worried about the bulkhead so had it checked. He had a mechanic remove the heater motor to properly check and all was ok, but still had the area wax oiled before motor going back to preserve it! the car is stored undercover but i have got caught out twice in the rain and there is no water coming in I can assure you :-) as for the sale bought 2 cars a Morgan and the SL both stored in my workshop with my Harley and VW bay window.. I was a bit over zealous and could do with more space! So unfortunately one has to go, it really is a toss up between the Morgan and the Mercedes both are great to drive but I have had 3 other SL's over the years and I thought for a different experience I would run the Morgan for a change! that said the SL is lovely I have done several trips up and down the coast covering 1000 miles in the relatively short time i have owned it and goes great...
