The Appeal
While today’s G Wagons are usually swathed in quilted oxblood leather and seldom come closer to off-road driving than encountering the occasional fallen leaf in Kensington, their forebears were rather different…
This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 240GD is unashamedly utilitarian, devoid of creature comforts and even solid door tops! Built to military specifications, it was dispatched new to Singapore and clearly saw very little use before making its way to the UK in September 2022. Presented in excellent original condition with just 5,619 kilometres on the odometer, it would make fabulous rural transport and is a novel alternative to a classic Land Rover.

Summary

This hardly-used and immensely original military example would make for a very usable classic or could even be put to work. UK registered and helpful in right-hand drive, this is sure to be much-coveted by Mercedes collectors and militaria enthusiasts.
