Highlights
- A pristine looking example of the rare Maserati Biturbo Si Black special edition
- A lightly used example with less than 43,000 kms recorded
- Featuring a charming, period interior in a great, appealing colourway
The Appeal
The Maserati Biturbo was developed during Alejandro DeTomaso’s ownership of Maserati and first appeared in 1981. His idea was sound, to provide all of Maserati’s DNA and established brand attributes in a smaller more affordable package. The Biturbo was neatly packaged in a car smaller than the BMW Three Series of the time. Motive power was provided by a 2L V6 fitted with the eponymous twin turbochargers.
This example is one of the limited edition Biturbo Si Black models of which only 400 or so were thought to have been produced. This edition pairs a special black over grey colourway with the Si’s boosted 220bhp power output. This example is clearly lightly used and exudes all the quirky charm associated with the individually designed Biturbo.

- Given the car’s light use and service record it is understood to run faultlessly
Summary
The Maserati Biturbo proved to be a great idea and initially sold very well indeed. A total of just under 38,000 were built and sold across a 17-year production life. Of course, today, this number has diminished to a fraction of the original with the Biturbo now a very rare sight in Europe. As such well preserved and lightly used examples like this are becoming increasingly desirable.
This example is a bit of a gem being one of the low production Black Edition models. The colourway is what differentiates it along with this car’s original and pristine condition. The interior is a delight and immediately renders any modern interior dull and dreary by comparison. Now is your opportunity to be the next lucky owner of this charming little Maserati so bid without delay.
