The Appeal
Want to get a petrolhead's attention? Utter the words "homologation special" and we're all ears.
To homologate their car for Group A competition, Ford were tasked with building 5,000 road-going Sierra RS Cosworths. Unsurprisingly, they sold like hot cakes and in all it's reported that 5,042 were built. Of that relatively small number, many were driven hard, crashed, modified or stolen in period, leaving very few original survivors for Ford collectors. We're pleased to report that this 1987 example falls into none of those aforementioned categories.
The vendor assures us it's a totally original, unmodified Moonstone Blue Ford Sierra RS Cosworth that was supplied new to Portugal in left-hand drive. As the photographs show, it looks to be in lovely condition for its age.
A recent service ensures that it is ready for its next chapter, making it a worthy consideration for any enthusiast or collector.
