The Appeal
The MK2 Fiesta arrived in 1983 as a fairly mid update of the original car that had sold over 1,000,000 units worldwide. The main news was the original had been reengineered to accept a wider range of engines, helping to spread the diminutive car’s already wide appeal. A five speed manual was made available for the first time in the Fiesta, too, making a much more viable choice for motorway trips. By the time the MK2 bowed out in 1987 a mighty 3.5M cars had been built and sold.
Despite those mammoth numbers, a MK2 Fiesta is a very rare sight today. Especially in the original condition and miniscule mileage that this example offers. Apart from the spot lamp covers and the door edge protectors, this is an entirely original example with no modifications or additions. Extremely rare.
