The Background
Everyone knows the body shape of the retro classic E30 BMW, it takes no introduction and in recent years, this model has gathered a massive following thanks to its clean lines and racing heritage in many saloon car championships of the time.
The BMW E30 was the entry level luxury car that BMW produced between 1982-94. It was initially offered as only a 2 door, but several different versions soon followed. These included a four door, convertible, as well as an estate (touring) version.
In all 2,339,520 E30s were produced but they are now revered amongst collectors and enthusiasts alike as one of the best 3 Series to be produced and more especially the 325i with its creamy smooth and robust 6-cylinder engine.

The History
This low mileage E30 has a history unlike many others on the market. It started out its life in 1987 having been ordered by a well-to-do businessman, who ticked almost every option on the spec. list. Not long after the car arrived, their business folded, and the car was repossessed.
This is where the current owner stepped in and bought the car in the December of 1987 so you could almost say that this car has only had one owner in its life. When the current owner acquired the car, the first thing he did was to have installed the important power steering making it a more user friendly and positive drive. Now, the important thing about him is that he is mechanically minded and has been all his life.
He was working as a Sales Manager of a BMW dealership and has an ear for diagnostic issues which enabled him to appraise part exchanges correctly with any faults that he had found. So, hurriedly, he snapped up this repossessed E30 from where he worked with delight!

The Paperwork
During the past 30 years of ownership, anything that needed doing was diagnosed by the current owner and carried out by BMW approved technicians (even after the warranty period had elapsed) privately, at his house and this therefore explains any lack of dealer stamped paperwork, but this doesn’t mean that the car hasn’t been maintained to the highest degree.
Having been in the motor trade for a considerable length of time, he has established many contacts that are more than happy to help with any maintenance of this car. Don’t be put off then by limited dealer stamped paperwork, as from the pictures and other parts of the description, you will see that this car has well and truly been cherished.

The Interior
With the genuine low mileage of this E30, the interior condition is almost like new, with no visible signs of wear to any seats, carpets, steering wheel, or gear knob. When you step into the interior of this E30 you are transported back to the 80’s.
Some extra interior features of this car include the M Sport Steering wheel, M Sport illuminated gear knob, central locking, two factory original torches located in the glovebox and the electric sunroof. The latter operating perfectly with no signs of leaks.
The combination of blue cloth seats and blue carpets work well with the light cirrus blue exterior. The seats themselves show no signs of wear at all and are as comfortable as any 21st century offering. One thing of note in the interior is the 80’s high end hi-fi system.
Not only is the current owner a mechanical enthusiast, but he also enjoys all things hi-fi and is an audiophile. He has decked out the interior with a huge sound system comprising 15 speakers, 3 amps including a dedicated sub amp, long-throw 12-inch subwoofer, spectrum analyser, 2 graphic equalisers and 2 surround sound systems, even rivalling today’s top sound systems like Harman Kardon.
With the installation of this kit, there are now some holes in the door cards and sound deadening foam on the boot lid as seen in the interior photos.

This particular car is finished in lovely original cirrus blue metallic colour which is just stunning in all lights, with excellent patina on all panels, and no damage to any of the original paintwork. A few special features on the exterior include a BMW approved Zender body kit, M-sport 2-piece rear spoiler, electric sunroof and electric windows which can be operated by the key fob.
The current owner replaced the 14-inch BBS wheels a while back and opted for some low profile 17” wider OZ wheels, which have been painted in a one-off fade-out silver grey to black colour scheme. With this new wheel and tyre combination the car’s handling has been substantially improved over the old 14” inch BBS wheels (hard to clean even with a toothbrush!)

There may not be a lot of paperwork to reference these works but all you need to do is look at all of the MOTs carried out. Since the online DVLA records started in 2006 this car has never had an advisory on the MOT, this is the proof to reference how well it has been looked after and cherished.
