The Appeal
In 1984 Bentley threw lovers of indulgent, hand-crafted saloons with marginally less deep pockets a lifeline. The Eight was billed at an entry level model, although at marginally less than £50,000 it was hardly cheap. Initially only available in the UK, it proved popular and 1,736 were eventually sold worldwide over an appropriate eight years.
The specification of early cars was fairly parsimonious but Bentley gradually improved this such as by 1987, when this car was built, it was hard to differentiate it from the more expensive Mulsanne. By that time it benefitted from desirable fuel injection and an interior trimmed in leather and more electrics.
This smart Eight was resprayed in white in October 2020 and its condition reflects that recent work. It looks smart, with a similarly well presented interior. A long MOT to August 2024 attests to the condition.
Whether you are treating yourself to a smart weekend indulgence or looking to turn this into a wedding-related earner, this well presented example is well worth your attention.
