The Appeal

The Audi Coupé is arguably one of the most iconic vehicles from the 80s, made popular by the then game-changing Quattro and its success in the world of rally. Throughout its production run, the Coupé was available in a multitude of trim levels, with a range of different drivetrain configurations.
This particular Coupé quattro is arguably one of the most desirable models from the lineup, second only to the legendary Ur-Quattro. The Coupé quattro does of course feature Audi’s signature four-wheel-drive system, along with subtle styling tweaks. In fact, the Coupé quattro is remarkably similar to the Ur-Quattro, using a near-identical four-wheel-drive system, with the exception of differential ratios, suspension, brakes, and a few other components.
Today, the Coupé quattro has only increased in rarity, with many examples falling to age over the years. This particular example, however, has been absolutely cherished over the years, and now presents itself in fantastic condition, benefitting from a major refit around 10 years ago.

If you’re looking for a gorgeous Coupé quattro to add to your collection, very few will come close to this fantastic example.

The History and Paperwork

  • Just 1 owner from new
  • Previously restored
  • Plenty of paperwork & history
  • MOT until October 2023
  • V5C document present
This Audi Coupé truly is a remarkable example, having been enjoyed from new by just one keeper. It is safe to say the vehicle has also been used as intended over the years, now showing 164,553 miles on the clock.

Around a decade ago, the vehicle was treated to an exterior restoration, consisting of stripping the shell down to the bare metal, carrying out required repairs, and re-assembling the vehicle with a fresh coat of paint. Since then, the vehicle has seen significantly less use, as shown by the recent MOT history.

The lucky new keeper will have plenty of paperwork to browse through, including invoices for previous maintenance & servicing, and the V5C document. With nothing required to be enjoyed and with MOT until next October, this Coupé is now ready to go.

The Interior

  • Excellent condition
  • Two-tone cloth interior
  • Original Blaupunkt radio
The interior of this Coupé is in excellent condition for its age, now only showing minor signs of use. As expected, the front seat accounts for the majority of wear to be found within the cabin, presenting itself with a few minor marks and ever so slight wear. The passenger seats, on the other hand, appear to have seen far less use, and show off a seemingly defect-free finish.
Carpeting throughout the vehicle also appears to be in great condition, as do both the headliner and door cards, with only a few incredibly minor marks to note. Both the leather steering wheel and shift knob present themselves well too, especially for the mileage shown today.
Although blissfully minimal in comparison to modern Audi’s, buyers will be pleased to know that all interior controls and instruments are present, and in full working order. As an added bonus, most contact points also show minimal wear, and seemingly only the original Blaupunkt radio is now beginning to show its age.

The Exterior

  • Resprayed exterior
  • Previously restored
  • Original 14” alloys
  • Excellent condition
As the vehicle has hardly seen the road since its restoration, this Audi Coupé quattro looks absolutely fantastic, and now shows only a few incredibly minor blemishes. The metallic paintwork is somewhat unassuming at first, but reveals an incredible amount of flake with each burst of light. As the images reflect, the paintwork presents itself in excellent condition, with only a few incredibly minor scratches and blemishes, mainly towards the front end.
Complementing the gorgeous paintwork is the original set of 14” alloys, which stand in excellent condition, showing only a few incredibly minor blemishes and the usual stubborn brake dust. The wheels come wrapped in a matching set of Goodyear tyres, with plenty of tread left to enjoy.
All exterior trim pieces including badging, lights, and brightwork reflect a similar condition, with seemingly only minor defects towards the rear end, and “coupe” panel. Although black trim components appear to be in great condition, a good dash of trim-restorer would no doubt work wonders for the aged pieces.

Overall, this Coupé is in fantastic condition for its age, greatly benefiting from its exterior restoration around 10 years ago. There are seemingly only minor defects to note, and hardly anything that cannot be easily rectified.

The Mechanics

  • 2.2L 5-cylinder
  • 5-speed manual
  • Runs & drives brilliantly
  • Long MOT until October 2023
Buyers will be pleased to know that this Audi fires up right away, and is said to perform without a single known fault. As the mileage reflects, this has certainly lived up to Audi’s earlier build quality and reliability over the years, no doubt benefiting from years of regular maintenance.
With no faults to note and MOT until next year, this Audi Coupé quattro is more than ready to be enjoyed out on the open road.

Summary

Offered today is a fantastic opportunity to obtain one of the most significant vehicles from Audi’s lineup. It’s a vehicle that follows closely in the success of the legendary rally spec Quattro, and uses similar technology to provide a very characterful, impressive driving experience.
This particular example boasts just 1 keeper on the V5 and has clearly been cherished over the years. The vehicle also benefits from a partial restoration around 10 years ago, and now stands in excellent condition both inside and out, with great mechanical health to match.

With these rare Coupés becoming few and far between, this presents a brilliant chance to add a fantastic example to your collection.
