The Appeal

The 944 was the front-engined coupe that finally brought the performance to make the car a proper Porsche. More power, improved aesthetics yet the same nimble handling and perfect weight balance made it a fitting alternative to the 911 for those seeking a different sort of Porsche drive.
From 1986 the car got the power it deserved, thanks to turbocharging of the 2.5L M44 motor. Porsche brought its experience of this technology with the 911 to deliver a car with smooth boost delivery.
Not surprisingly, good examples make excellent classic sports cars. Factory-standard, low mileage cars are in surprisingly short supply but this one has thankfully just been released from a private Porsche collection.
Classically finished in black with a fantastic, contrasting CanCan red interior, it is in very good condition and remains as it left the factory. The vendor acquired it in late 2022, immediately undertaking an improvement programme that included Porsche Cup alloys, new Michelin Sport Pilot tyres, new shock absorbers and a new LSD. Consequently, it drives as well as it looks.
Good, low mileage 944 Turbos don’t get much better than this. A long, advisory-free MOT to December 2025 adds further reassurance.
The vendor tells us:
“It is excellent to drive following installation of new LSD, shocks and Porsche Cup wheels and new tyres in December 2022. I love it for the looks, the handling, the performance and the everyday practicality.”
