Highlights
- Resprayed in its original colour
- Retrimmed interior
- Over £3,000 spent on mechanical servicing recently
The Appeal
Can you think of a more flamboyantly named car than the Pininfarina Spidereuropa? We can’t either. And this rare Fiat 124-based sports car is every bit as suave and elegant as you’d expect from the famous Italian carrozzeria.
This particular Spidereuropa has benefitted from being resprayed in its original colour, and features a reupholstered interior. All this combines to make it a very smart looking car. And the fact that only around 175 of these Spidereuropas were produced, means we have here a car which is fantastically rare and supremely desirable.
Add to this the extensive servicing which the car has received, and you get a car which is much more than the sum of its parts. It is achingly beautiful and has clearly been well cared for over the years. If we could keep it ourselves, we would.

- First registered in the UK in April 2021
- MOT valid until April 2024
- Original German Fahrzeugbrief paperwork
- Original owner’s documents
- Extensive invoices for parts and servicing

The Interior
- Beautifully retrimmed interior
- Leather seat covers in excellent condition
- Simple, stylish dashboard
This Spidereuropa’s interior is a superbly styled place to be. It has that effortlessly suave Italian feel to it, with simple, crisp lines making it feel both elegant and homely.
The current owner has had the car retrimmed, and it looks like a very good job was made of it. With good quality beige leather having been used on the seat covers, while the original deep-pile carpets remain in the footwells.
In front of the driver is a simple yet effective dashboard. It is uncluttered and contains just enough fixtures and features to keep the driver informed and entertained. Bold, clear instruments reside behind the steering wheel, and a modern stereo has been fitted to the centre console. The veneers on the dashboard itself are in very good condition, with no cracks or damage we could see.
To the rear, there is a fully carpeted boot, with plenty of room for luggage. It features a full size spare wheel under the boot floor and comes with a warning triangle and tool roll.
The Exterior
- Resprayed paintwork in its original colour
- Smart Volumex wheels
- Clean and tidy underneath
The sleek lines of this Pininfarina’s profile will be sure to draw attention wherever it goes. And it is finished to a very high standard, with resprayed paint in what is believed to be the car’s original colour. As such, there are very few scratches or blemishes to be found on the car, having been driven very few miles since this work was completed.
The car has been fitted with a set of Volumex wheels, which really look fabulous, and the original Cromadora wheels remain with the car and are in very good condition. And underneath the car looks to be very well presented, with only a few small patches of surface corrosion that we could see, and plenty of recently fitted parts.
The tastefully applied chrome trim is generally free from damage and pitting, and the lamp lenses look clear and bright. The car comes fitted with a fabric roof, which raises and lowers, and appears to be very clean and smart.
The Mechanics
- 1,995cc four-cylinder engine produces 106hp
- Manual transmission
- £3,000 service completed in 2022
One of the first engines to be fitted with a rubber timing belt, the twin-cam unit in the Pininfarina’s engine bay has been the subject of extensive recent servicing, completed in October 2022, including fitting a new timing belt.
The car benefits from rebuilt front suspension, with new Koni shock absorbers, a new exhaust system and lambda sensor. The vendor informs us that the car now drives superbly well, although the 30-year-old Italian electrics can sometimes be a little temperamental.
Under the bonnet, the engine bay looks clean and tidy and there is an Evans Waterless Coolant sticker proudly displayed on the radiator.
Summary
Overall, this Pininfarina Spidereuropa is a beautifully presented Italian sportscar, which lives up to its wonderfully flamboyant name. The paintwork and interior are beautifully presented and it has received extensive mechanical attention recently. Produced in low numbers for only a very short period of time, you're unlikely to see another very often.
