The Background
The Morgan plus 8 was in production between 1968 -2004 and then revived again for production between 2012 and 2018.
It was based on the same chassis from Morgans Plus 4 however altered to take the Rover V8 that Morgan purchased rights for in 1967.
This gave it a great power to weight ratio and one of the most iconic soundtracks. It was a very popular model and is credited by many as the car that made Morgan the name we recognise today.
The History
This particular Morgan Plus 8 was bought new by the previous owner meaning it’s a two owner car. When the previous owner sadly passed away this car was put up for sale.
The car has done a measly 62k (equivalent to approximately 1770 miles per year) since new in 1986 which as you can imagine has probably been mostly sunny Sunday drives out for a spot of lunch.
The car has been and is still kept to the highest standard by its current owner and only serious illness forces its reluctant sale.
The Paperwork
Unfortunately, due to the first owner passing away and his family not being able to locate the early paperwork for the car, some of that has gone astray. However, the current owner has had a lot of the main dealer history with the car tracked down and reprinted, which is excellent. Most of this was undertaken at Berrybrook which is a Morgan Main dealer, and the current owner advises that Berrybrook still have staff present who remember the car from brand new, who are able to confirm the car's service history in writing, both before and since Berrybrook took over the local Morgan franchise.
Additionally, the current owner has advised us that another service has already been booked and paid for with Berrybrook, and this will be carried out prior to the lucky new owner taking delivery of the car.

The car will also come with the V5 logbook and accompanying MOTs etc, the latest of which runs out in March 2022.
The Interior
The interior is like a gentlemans club with deep comfortable green leather seats and wood accents. The wooden steering wheel and clearly understandable gauges give the car a real sporty feel, and the sound of the thing only adds to that experience.
It’s a proper British sports car this, with two comfy seats, simple and effective engineering with the power sent to the rear wheels.
There are removable side screens that stow away in their own custom bag when not in use and of course the top can be taken down and a tonneau cover fitted to keep the rain out.
The interior is in really good condition and has lots of character.
The Exterior
The Connaught green paint just suits this shape car, and coupled with the stunning wheels and other chrome accent pieces it really is a class act. The paint is in great original condition with no sign of a respray. The leather straps that hold the bonnet down tie in so well with the colour scheme.
All in all the exterior on this Morgan Is in fine condition for a 35 year old vehicle with only very minor stone chips from enjoying it on a spirited drive.
The Mechanics
Mechanically the car has been very well looked after throughout its life and any items needing attention have been addressed straight away. The receipts and history from Berrybrook back all of this care up and show just how loved this car has been.
The engine, appearance wise, is very original and sounds absolutely fantastic when you stamp on the loud pedal. Everything works as it should and there are no concerning noises from the engine or gearbox.
The Appeal
The Morgan Plus 8 is a driver's car and if you’ve got any ounce of petrol flowing through your veins, you’ll know exactly what you're looking at.
These cars were built with driving experience in mind and due to the production techniques they have very low curb weights, coupled with a thumping great V8 and one of the best soundtracks in the business, what’s not to like?
In terms of classic British sports cars these really hold their value well and it will make you and everyone else around you for that matter, smile every time you take it out for a spin.
