The Appeal
A good R107 is one of the classic world’s enduring gems. And they do endure, particularly the later facelift cars with their durable galvanised bodies.
Finished in stylish Smoke Silver with Brazil brown leather, this is a lovely example of Stuttgart’s classic perennial. It is one of the galvanised cars and has had only five keepers in its life. They have kept firmly on top of the maintenance - there is a thick history file - and used it sparingly, amassing a low mileage for a 38-year-old car.
As you might expect, it is in very good condition on both the exterior and interior. The factory-folding soft top and hard top are also well presented. Recent maintenance has included a gearbox, torque converter, and brake rebuild, four new tyres, and a bulkhead inspection. The vendor tells us that the engine and gearbox are smooth, and it drives exactly as it should.
With MOT to October 2025, this is a very tidy 300SL that is ready to enjoy.
The vendor tells us:
“I bought it as a silver wedding anniversary gift for me and my wife and because of its beautiful condition and colour combination and finally because of the way it drives.”
