The Appeal
The XJS has gone down as one of Coventry's all-time greatest triumphs. Unusual, distinctive styling and a swathe of powerful engines made these tourers one of the most popular sports cars of the 70s and 80s. The High Efficiency models, with their big, purportedly efficient V12 powerplants, was an immediate hit.
Introduced in 1983, the XJS-C combined the best of both worlds by combining a coupe and a convertible. The most striking feature of the XJS-C is the removable Targa roof panel, allowing drivers and passengers to soak up the sun while enjoying the car's sporty lines.
Less than 5% of all Jaguar XJs were made as targa, only 5013 were produced. This rarity makes the XJS-C all the more desirable for classic car enthusiasts and collectors.
A V12 engined-SC - with its convertible, two-door body style - soon became particularly desirable. Offered here with its original matching-numbers chassis and powerplant, this 1986 XJ-SC spent its life in the USA until relatively recently, and comes complete with a clean CARFAX report for buyer's peace of mind.
Finished in the iconic Jaguar Racing Green, which complements its luxurious leather interior, this convertible is a real best-of-British piece of retro luxury, which we've no doubt will become a prized addition to any fleet.

✓ We request that a non-refundable fee be paid if you are the lucky winning bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted. Please refer to our helpful FAQs and T&Cs for specific rates.
✓ This vehicle is “Sold As Seen”, on an “As Is Where Is’ basis and without warranty. Photos and descriptions are solely for guidance purposes and it's customary to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer's deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final bid or offer price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it's always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer.
✓ Buyers are responsible for vehicle collection
