The Appeal
Perhaps it’s because it was the car we always promised ourselves, or maybe it was Bodie and Doyle tail sliding through boxes on TV? Whatever it was, Britain took the Capri to its heart and for several years after production stopped elsewhere, we still got the blue collar coupé.
And what a car we got. The final 2.8 Injection Special was one of the best versions from the Capri’s long history. Equipped with a LSD and of course that torquey, burbly 150bhp Cologne V6, this was a Capri worthy of its figure-hugging Recaro interior.
This 1986 example demonstrates why these cars are so revered. In excellent, very original condition, it leans into the car’s GT nature with an automatic gearbox. A long MOT provides independent reassurance that this is a great example worthy of your attention.
History and Paperwork

- Very good MOT history with hardly any advisories back to 2016
- We understand that there is a good history file with this car but at the time of writing we did not have sight of it
The Condition
- Attractive Diamond White paintwork and light grey leather interior
- Very good condition with no visible marks or deterioration to bodywork
- Condition reflects the low displayed mileage and few owners
- Goodyear 15in tyres in good order with plenty of tread
- Upgraded 7 spoke 15in alloy wheels showing no marks or kerbing
- Original condition throughout with only light wear visible
- Sunroof model with tinted sun visor
- Smart interior with only very light bolster wear visible to driver’s seat
- Underside in good order with no structural advisories on last MOT
- Original radio cassette still intact with electric aerial
- The vendor advises that the dashboard is un-cracked and the fascia uncut
- The parcel shelf is intact and has not been cut for aftermarket speakers.
The Mechanics
- 2,792cc V6 Cologne Ford engine with fuel injection

- Unfortunately at the time of writing we do not have access to the service or maintenance records, but the vendor advises that there is a folder of all old tax discs and all mot's for the car as well as invoices for work done on the car over the years
- The car features a full Janspeed Exhaust system
