The Appeal
The 2CV is perhaps Citroën's greatest achievement - certainly their largest one. Ironic for such a humble, simple austere car, the deceptively simple lineage of the 'tin snail' obscures a remarkably innovative chassis that took Europe onto the roads during a time of hardship after the war. Poor conditions, cobblestones and even ploughed fields became a natural stomping ground for its signature long-travel suspension system, and the car continues to be one of the most enduring cars on the classic market today.
This particular example is a 1986 2CV6 Dolly, restored to an exacting standard by renowned marque specialist Rick Pembro. It's carrying a scarce colour scheme, which perfectly suits those characterful lines, and has been kept very much true-to-spec. It's an incredibly charming, evocative little car - ready and waiting to be driven away.
