The Appeal
Despite the immense popularity of convertible sports cars during the 1960s and ‘70s, it would take Porsche eighteen years of 911 production before a cabriolet variant was introduced in 1982. It would go on to be a fixture of the range, alongside the ‘Targa’, and we’re delighted to offer a superb early example with a fascinating story to tell…
In 2001, this 1985 Carrera 3.2 Cabrio was stolen and all assumed it would never be seen again. Then in 2016, it was discovered, surrounded by woodland. It was in complete, original condition, with very few kilometres covered in the intervening years, although requiring full restoration. The work was undertaken by Porsche Italia and completed to a very high standard. Resplendent in its factory colour (Dunkelblau) and retaining its original interior, this 911 is an exemplary specimen of a much-coveted model
