The Appeal
In the 60s small open two seaters were in high demand. While Britain’s MG and Triumph vied for sales across the pond, in Italy Alfa Romeo and Fiat were busy servicing a more home-grown market. The latter’s pretty 124 Spider, designed by Tom Tjaarda of De Tomaso and Ferrari fame, was tailor-made for effervescent weekend getaways and proved so enduring that it remained in production for nearly 20 years.
For the last three years of its life production moved to Pininfarina but otherwise little changed. With 130bhp of 2litre power, a comfortable, well-appointed interior and a decent sized boot, the Spider’s handsome lines continued to offer buyers something classy and distinctive.
This is a Pininfarina car from the last year of production and one of the last to be road registered. This spider looks utterly gorgeous in Rosso Rubino metallic with contrasting tan interior. It looks ready to deliver all the fun and charm of these great cars to a new buyer.

Summary
Designed by the man who penned two of Italy’s greatest supercars, the 124 Spider has provided the wheels for romantic getaways and memorable drives since it was introduced in the 1960s. The final cars were built by Pininfarina and got more luxurious interiors to complement those timeless lines.
This car’s colour scheme is particularly attractive and it has the added advantage of being one of the last built and registered. Desirable and distinctive on its lovely Ronal wheels it is surely the perfect summer indulgence for any motoring enthusiast.
