The Appeal
Alongside its various successful saloon models which were becoming increasingly accomplished by the mid-’70s, BMW was keen to keep a grand touring coupé in its range. That meant finding a worthy successor to the E9 of CSL “Batmobile” fame. Enter the E24 6 Series - a whole new model introduced by BMW in 1976.
The 6 Series’ styling was not dissimilar to its predecessor, but Paul Bracq did a masterful job of penning modern, sleek lines that would keep the E24 looking fresh right up to the end of production in 1989. Of all the powertrains available, the 635 CSi is perhaps the most talked about, and here we have a fine example from 1985.
We’d wager a UK-supplied 635 CSi with only one registered keeper and under 60,000 miles on the clock is a practically unique proposition. Offered with a long advisory-free MOT, this car has a lot to offer.
