The Background
The Panther Kallista was a direct descendant from the Lima, built by The Panther Westwinds Company in the late ’70’s. 1984 was to prove the most successful year ever for Kallista with 401 cars built and UK registration of 238 cars.
The History
The car was a one owner car up until 2018.
There are three owners shown because the lady owner was the wife of the original owner who bought the car new, she registered it after her husband’s death but hardly drove it and reluctantly sold it to the present owner in 2018. For the following two years it was kept stored in his garage.
The MOT certificates show the mileage is very low, from 33,000 to 36,000 in about 10-15 years!
The present owner has done a lot to the car mechanically with a replacement gearbox and a new heavy duty clutch, and new starter motor around two years ago. The fuel pump has also been replaced including the front pads and rear shoes. Most of the servicing was done by both sellers.
The car drives beautifully, and is a solid honest real head turner wherever you go!
The Paperwork
The usual V5 is present along with a record of the MOT tests since 2006 up to the current ownership. There are some of the receipts of the work carried out along with the the Kallista's owner's handbook and service book.
The Interior
The interior is in lovely condition. The seats are immaculate with lovely red piping all round. Additionally, the dashboard is very clean for its age with no visible damage.
The clocks and gauges are in fantastic condition also.
Under the drivers side floor mat, there is some carpet wear on the floor, as can be seen in the pictures, but nothing serious.
The seats easily fold forward for access to the boot area.
The Exterior
The body looks stunning in RED and overall is in fabulous condition!
There is a small ding on the bonnet that can be seen at certain angles and one on the side fender, but you need to look hard to see the one on the side.
The Mechanics
The engine has had very light use over the years hence the low mileage.
As noted above, gearbox and heavy duty clutch, starter motor fuel pump and brake pads and shoes all round have been replaced and that certainly will reassure you this car has been cherished thought its life.
The Pull down roof is in good condition all round, although there are very slight signs of wear were it joins to the windscreen.
The Appeal
This car appeals to anyone who loves and enjoys driving in all conditions wet or dry!
If you want a drivers car with sporty handling and plenty of road presence, and a reliable solid car, you won't be disappointed.
It’s the type of car that puts a smile on your face weather your driving or a passenger.
Certainty a sound investment all round owning a British Classic!
