The Appeal
From the day it rolled off of the line, the R107 was an unfettered success. It's easy to see why - the performance was smooth, comfortable and fast on its feet, the styling was immediately recognisable and it just fit perfectly in the 70s and 80s' growing affection for sharp, boxy lines.
This example, a 1984 500SL, is particularly distinguished. Previously owned by Lord Gould - this car has been in the same family's ownership since 1998, and has clearly been beautifully kept - adjoined by an extensive history file. Polish it all off with that attractive Ivory livery and deep brown cabin, and you've got an incredibly characterful roadster.
