The Appeal
While Porsche had introduced the Targa in 1965, a fully open 911 cabriolet wasn’t part of the range until 1983, towards the end of 3.0-litre SC production. The Cabriolet proved popular amongst buyers, who now got to experience a proper convertible Porsche for the first time since the 356 more than two decades previously.
It remains a fixture of the 911 line-up to this day and we’re delighted to offer this very early example first registered on the 8th of April 1983. UK-supplied in right-hand drive, this 911 has been in present ownership since 24th October 2000. In 2001, it was resprayed in Iris Blue and in recent years has been subject to an engine rebuild and gearbox overhaul. It has also been upgraded with a stainless steel rear exhaust system, LED instrument illumination and a modern Alpine stereo.
For those seeking a thoroughly sorted example of an early 911 Cabriolet, this 1983 SC ticks all the right boxes. It’s been cherished by the vendor for almost a quarter of a century, so we’re sure its next owner will be similarly enamoured.

It’s in lovely condition, with no heavy wear, corrosion or damage to report. It’s the same story on the inside too as the interior is remarkably smart for its age, with barely any wear to be seen. The folding roof operates without issue and lowering it adds another dimension to the enjoyment of this 911.

The vendor comments that it remains a very fit example following the engine and gearbox work and has been used sparingly in recent years. For those seeking a healthy example that’s ready to drive, you’ve come to the right place.
