The Appeal
Here is a genuine labour of love. The vendor acquired this car last year as a one-keeper ‘barn find’ in a very dilapidated state. But he clearly saw the potential in this very low mileage car and certainly had the skills to bring it back to life.
Which, over 10 months and 100s of hours, is exactly what he has achieved. The car you see in the photos must be amongst the best of the handful of remaining Manta B GT/Es available to buy (these are, after all, coupes that owners tend to hang onto). Finished in original silver metallic it has received a full body restoration with many new parts plus an interior retrim with correct checked cloth for the Recaros.
The work also covered the mechanicals, wiring, brakes and fuel system to deliver a car that runs as well as it looks for the lucky buyer.
Opel’s Manta B was the sophisticated, rally-honed riposte to Ford’s Capri. These are engaging, nimble cars but survivors are exceptionally rare. Don’t miss this one.

BidderLovely car and I had exactly the same spec of car back in the 80’s. In fact I had 3 in succession and my silver one was the most loved. Do you have any photos of the engine bay and what oil pressure is it pulling at tickover and under normal load? Thanks!

SellerThe engine is running great and the oil pressure is perfect.

Cracking looking car, correct me if I'm wrong, she is a Hatchback and not a Coupe as described? , D.

Very nice Manta indeed, it certainly is the Manta Hatchback as opposed to the Coupe which had a boot as opposed to a hatch.

I had one of these in red many many moons ago and back then when the car was a lot younger it still wasn't as good as this pristine example
