History and Paperwork
- Built in 1983
- Registered keeper is unsure about some aspects of the car's history
- Kept in dry storage for some 17 years
- Indicates only 33,000km which the vendor believes is accurate
- Car caught the eye of the registered keeper who restores cars but currently has too many
- As a result the restoration has never been commenced
- Complete with a trio of manuals: An owner's manual, chassis service manual and electrical manual
The Condition
- Solid, albeit tired condition
- Red paintwork is looking distinctly tired with some loss of lacquer
- Coachline and vinyl roof all present and correct
- Brightwork is carrying patina but looks like it could polish up nicely
- We note some particular corrosion to the wear wings
- Roof has a fair few bubbles but is complete
- Original wire-spoke wheels shod in Hankook tyres
- Cabin is highly original with red leather upholstery
- Some small rips and tears
- Dashboard is in fair order with attractive square instruments
- Wood-finish veneers all present and correct
- We've no reports of any electrical faults to the cabin
The Mechanics
- 5.0L Oldsmobile V8 powerplant
- Turbo-Hydramatic Automatic transmission
- Needs a new alternator belt
- Experiences slight misfire sometimes
- However we're informed that the car is still starting and driving well
- Ultimately this appears to be a great opportunity for a restoration
