The Appeal
Often regarded as one of the most rock-solid cars to ever hit the market, the W123 is the sort of car that perfectly summarises Mercedes-Benz. Executive glamour, angular styling, and remarkable build quality - it's an unmissable combo that's timeless and treasured.
Needless to say, that makes them a popular pick for endurance events. This one has recently experienced exactly that. The vendor purchased the car specifically to enter it in to the Artic Midnight Sun Rally, covering some 4,800 miles (including from the UK and back) through Scandinavia, up to the Artic Circle from Gothenburg and finishing in Oslo over the course of 14 days. We're proudly informed that it didn't miss a beat!
Now, the vendor is moving onto a new project - and is seeking a lucky new owner for this ready-and-willing rally vehicle. The car underwent significant maintenance and upgrades before entering the event, and is primed through-and-through for its next exploit.
The vendor says:
"If you are looking for a comfortable competitive car this is a good choice - it's not super powerful but handles well and is plenty powerful enough for these events. Alternatively, use it for pleasure, it's tax-free, MOT exempt, ULEZ exempt and Congestion Charge exempt and costs less than £200 per year to insure."

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
