1983 Land Rover 88 Series 3

  • High end older restoration in classic factory-correct Pastel Green
  • Historic Vehicle that is tax and MOT free
  • Over £13,000 spent in the last few years with sparing use
  • £1,200 gearbox rebuild with Romerdrive fitted 4000 miles ago in March 2024
  • Reliable and very usable daily driver or show star

The Appeal

The Series III was the longest-lived and most populous version of Land Rover’s evergreen go-anywhere classic. During its long life it was continuously improved. Innovations like a fully synchromesh gearbox make the Series III easier to drive and an appealing daily proposition.
Built towards the end of the model’s life, this lovely Pastel Green 88in has covered just 4,000 miles since a high quality restoration. It has had £13,000 lavished upon it. The investment includes a gearbox rebuild and fitment of a desirable Romerdrive overdrive unit in March 2024 that improve long distance cruising.
The enthusiast keeper has loved and cherished it, but ill health now reluctantly forces sale. The buyer gets a MOT and tax exempt example that is in great condition and very reliable. It would make a good, reliable daily driver or you could preserve the condition and admire and show it.
