The Appeal
Originally developed as early as the 1890s in order to carry gun racks, ammunition and hunting spoils, the ‘Shooting brake’ was the grandfather of what we now call the estate car. As game shoots were very much the preserve of the wealthy elite, shooting brakes were built upon the most high-end chassis of the period and so were usually based on Rolls-Royces and Bentleys.
This coachbuilt 1983 Bentley Mulsanne Turbo pays homage to early Shooting Brakes and was built by Coway of Westhoughton, Lancashire. Alongside the bodywork modifications, it was completely re-trimmed in high-quality hides and fitted with such luxuries as a DVD player, parking sensors, Blaupunkt multi disk CD/radio, navigation and two umbrellas.
