The Appeal

With its short wheelbase, perky performance and irresistible, angular styling, it's little wonder that the Golf has become a legendary success story. These cars really established the nature of the hot hatch in a very real way, and sit comfortably amongst the most recognisable cars in history.

Needless to say, if you want your hot hatch with a little more grunt, you want the GTi. The fuel injected, performance-led iteration of the diminutive little car only buoyed its already skyrocketing popularity, and is about the most desirable variant of the Golf you can get your hands on.

This 1982 car has clearly been cherished. Since 2019, it's seen a meticulous restoration, with a full bare metal respray, mechanical overhaul and a retrim all resulting in one of the best Golfs we've seen in quite a while. No doubt about it, if you're after a Golf, this is a real hole-in-one!
