1982 BMW 635 CSi E24

  • Recently restored to a very high standard, returned to the road after a sixteen-year lay-up
  • Advisory-free MOT until January 2026
  • Classic shark-nosed styling by Paul Bracq
  • Fabulous colour combination: Cirrus Blue Metallic over blue leather
  • BBS metric alloys

The Appeal

Replacing the similarly-styled E9 in order to become the first official BMW 6 Series, the E24 was yet another 'shark-nosed' Paul Bracq masterpiece. it would become BMW's range-topping two-door coupé from launch in 1977 all the way until the advent of the 8 Series in 1990.

In 1982, the 6 Series platform was heavily revised, becoming based upon the floorpan of the new E28 5-Series rather than the outgoing E12 chassis on which it was originally designed. Yet, despite the substantial engineering changes required it retained most of its original panels; a very unusual way for a car company to carry out a facelift, but one that demonstrates just how ‘right first time’ the 6-Series styling was.
Here we have a very early facelift car and in the best spec – a 635 CSi with the 3,430cc M30 engine under the bonnet. It pre-dates the M635, so was the ultimate 6-Series in its day.
Having recently undergone extensive sympathetic restoration, this 635 CSi is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. The work included a full engine overhaul, new brakes, bushes, and a complete exhaust system, ensuring that the car is in very good mechanical health.

As the photographs show, it's in lovely condition and boasts a fabulous factory spec, resplendent in the striking hue of Cirrus Blue Metallic over blue leather interior. Complete with a long MOT, free from advisories, this increasingly sought after classic BMW awaits a new custodian.
