The Appeal
In its day, the Porsche 928 along with its fellow front engine models from the Stuttgart brand struggled to outshine the seemingly outgoing 911. A major deviation from the manufacturer’s roots, purists did not take to this new approach.
However, today these GT cars are rapidly gaining a following among classic car collectors and enthusiasts. This particular 1981 model presents as an eye-catching 928S in a stunning specification. The Ivory paint pairs nicely with the dark Chocolate leather interior, both of which have been nicely preserved.
Indeed, the entire car has seen regular servicing maintain its fantastic condition, as the extensive history and fresh lick of paint prove.
A tuneful V8 benefitting from LPG prices mixed with a comfortable automatic specification, this is an exemplary Porsche 928S. Do not miss such a unique opportunity.

Back in its day, Porsche purists did not welcome the move to front engine GT machinery such as this 928. However, today the wedge shape along with its pop-up headlights and enlarged rear screen certainly make for a sight.
Couple said styling with a lovely coat of the rarely-seen Medium Ivory paint colour and this particular model is a stunner. In 2000, the car went through a respray. Despite some blemishes in places, this new coat gives the car a great overall look. The recognisable wheels also show few signs of damage. Meanwhile, the Michelin Pilot Exalto tyres on all four corners still seemingly show good levels of tread.
Inside, this Porsche 928 lives up to its GT persona. The chocolate leather seats look to be very comfortable with the vendor confirming as such. Black trim elements and controls scream 1980s design.
According to the vendor, the car is very original. As such, there are some minor imperfections to note; namely slightly worn buttons and an indentation to the gear selector trim. For the most part however, the car presents in fantastic shape and we are unaware of any malfunctioning elements on the model.

The Mechanics
- 4.7-litre V8, 310hp

- Car drives like a modern vehicle according to the vendor
Bar the seemingly stunning condition of this 1981 Porsche 928S, one of the main features of the car is its conversion to LPG.
