1981 Porsche 911

Highlights

  • Lovely Clean Condition
  • Lots of Original Paperwork
  • Recent Renovation

The Background

The Porsche 911 story actually started with the 901 in 1963. It was penned by Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, who was famed for designing the Volkswagen Beetle. Porsche’s replacement for the 356 was originally set to be sold as the 901, its internal design number. But Peugeot claimed the rights to three-digit car names with zero in the middle, so Porsche changed the name, and the 911 moniker was born and the rest, as they say, is history. A car that has been on children’s bedroom walls for 60 years and still continues to be till this day.

The History

This car was bought by the current owner from the Beverly Hills Car Club to be restored. The restoration is now complete and the car is now ready to go to the new lucky owner!

The Paperwork

The car comes with the V5, original logbook and lots of various receipts from the restoration.

The Interior

You open the car to find all original interior, it is a little tired and could do with some tlc, but everything is there as it should be and everything works as it should. You’ll even find the original Yamaha tape player which is a sight to behold on its own!

The leather seats are just as comfortable now as they were back in the early 80’s and makes for a good driving position. There is something special about being sat in a Porsche, that badge, the styling (that hasn’t really changed since the 1960’s) and having that famous engine positioned just behind you, as you get ‘pushed’ as opposed to being pulled along....... quickly!

The Exterior

This is where the restoration has really taken shape. The restoration was completed by Amazing Autos in Swansea, there is a video that the current owner can send to the winning bidder so that you can see what they did. It is an extensive list, most obvious is the beautiful paint work that this car now has.

The car was also fitted with the Turbo bodykit and combine that with the lovely BBS alloys and this car still turns heads, 40 years on! The car, because of this is in stunning condition and apart from a little “nick” on the offside roof area which is less than an inch in length and hardly noticeable this car looks exactly how it should do.

The Mechanics

The engine makes that beautiful “Porsche” sound and ticks over with no obvious issues. There are no leaks and no untoward noises. The car started first time every time while it was being moved around for photographs.

The Appeal

The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports car models in the world. It is certainly the most well-known. The 911 has been made famous not just because of its performance and price, but also being used in some big Hollywood films.

There’s barely a car chase around that doesn’t involve a Porsche in some capacity, and more to that its normally a 911. They are known for their power, precision driving and an “affordable” sports car, that is more than capable of keeping up with some of the most expensive cars in the world.

Porsche are known in the motoring world as a “drivers car”. This car is a fantastic example and although nearly 40 years old..... it can still worry modern super cars if you decided to give it some beans (where safe and legal to do so of course!).

This is a genuine opportunity to own a classic, timeless sports car, which will put a smile on your face on every, single drive!
