The Appeal

The R107 SL was designed with the American market in mind. As such, you could choose some huge V8s. Most went for 500s and 560s, but those in the know will likely tell you that the smaller V8 of the 380 SL was the connoisseur's choice, offering a better blend o performance, handling and fuel economy than its larger siblings.
