The Appeal

The Series III was to be the last of the Series Land Rovers, the final leaf-sprung chassis in a long lineage dating back to 1948. Simplicity and ruggedness had long been key to the model's success, so little changed between Series IIA and III variants besides the addition of a padded dashboard, plastic radiator grille and a few other small tweaks which some say makes the Series III the most usable of all classic Land Rover models.

This 1981 example has undergone a great deal of restoration work since the vendor acquired it four years ago. They have equipped with a new galvanised chassis and a new galvanised bulkhead - effectively removing all the components that can attract corrosion. Winter salt and mud are no threat to this Land Rover - making it very tempting indeed.

Finished in the popular Limestone hue and equipped with a canvas tilt, perfect for the summer months, this versatile classic shall surely garner admiring glances wherever it roams.
