The Appeal
If you grew up with the A-Team, the Dukes of Hazard, and The Fall Guy, chances are you're already very well acquainted with the CJ Series. These iconic off-roaders appeared in just about every form of media throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s - and today, they're amongst the most evocative 4x4 classics out there.
This particular CJ7 Renegade was built in the Toledo Jeep plant in 1981. It's quite a piece, packed with a 258 cubic inch (4.2 litre) petrol engine, manual gearbox, with the higher spec 4150 ld gross vehicle weight. Many CJ7s have been engine swapped over the years - so this original spec example should attract plenty of attention.
Exported new to the UK in 1981, this 4x4 has had 5 previous UK keepers - the last of which was an enthusiastic Jeep aficionado who has spent plenty of cash upping its ante following a restoration from 2014 to 2017. It now comes to us in incredible condition, with a striking Copper Bronze Metallic livery and a like-new Tan interior. The vehicle's history is well-documented, and it comes with a plethora of rare spare parts and accessories.
It's a stunning package, that's still loaded with that rebellious, brash character that makes the CJ7 such a legendary fixture for the classic car market.
