The Appeal
The DMC-12 was ambitious. That it arrived in showrooms with jaw-dropping features like those gullwing doors and the brushed aluminium finish is a testament to John D’s singular drive and vision.
Back To The Future made the DeLorean a household name, but with those looks and features likely it would have been a cultural icon anyway. Few were built and highly preserved survivors like this one are rare finds. It is in remarkable condition and highly original - it even still has its factory stereo.
These cars were not built terribly well so cabin features like switchgear and trim tend to wear. Not so here - check the photos and you’ll see there are few indications of this car’s 44 years.
It is an early car - built in October 1981 - that was sold new to the USA where it spent time in California and Texas. It arrived in the Netherlands in August 1991 and has been with a small number of enthusiasts ever since. The current keeper acquired the car in 2004.
The car is said to be in good order and certainly looks fantastic. Everyone should experience driving a DeLorean and the effect it has on passersby. This car is well worth your consideration.
