The Appeal
Dropping the M90 3.5L straight six under the long bonnet of Paul Bracq’s beautifully styled ‘shark nose’ E24 gave buyers the car they always wanted. In the late 70s no 2+2 GT was as engaging, quick and comfortable as a good 635CSI.
This 1980 car retains the simple, unfussy styling of the earlier cars - just a rear spoiler signals this is the 220bhp range-topper. It is an original Spanish-registered car with the same keeper throughout its entire life.
He has kept the smart silver metallic paintwork and black leather cabin in very good order. The car looks very original, including the 14in lattice-style alloys, and there are few signs of its 45 years and relatively low kilometerage of 157,000 from new.
Enthusiasts rate the 635 E24 highly. This well kept car shows why.
