1980 Aston Martin V8 ‘Oscar India’

Highlights

  • 1 of 352 ever built
  • Fantastic condition
  • A truly iconic Aston Martin
  • Restored exterior & reupholstered interior

The Appeal

Hand-assembled between 1969 to 1989, the Aston Martin V8 was the valiant successor to the legendary DB6 and would become the flagship grand tourer for the brand.

Equipped with Polish engineer Tadek Marek’s 5.4L V8 engine, the platform could be taken as Aston Martin’s interpretation of the muscle car. New Mustang-inspired body lines and that throaty V8 offered an interesting development upon Aston Martin’s previous work.
This particular car is an Oscar India variant, also known as the Series 4 V8. First introduced in 1978, the Oscar India brought a host of new changes, including a closed bonnet bulge where a scoop once was, a new automatic transmission, and a new integrated spoiler.
With just 352 Oscar India V8s ever built, these cars are incredibly scarce nowadays and are becoming increasingly sought after by the day.

The History and Paperwork

  • Just 2 previous keepers
  • Restored by a previous keeper
  • Dry stored and covered since purchase
  • Cared for as part of a collection
  • Maintained by Aston Martin specialist
  • Previous MOT certificates
  • Invoices for labour and parts
  • Original owner’s booklet and manual
Over the years, this beautiful Aston Martin V8 has been treasured by just 2 previous owners, clearly receiving a tremendous amount of care along the way.

The current keeper purchased the vehicle in 2015 and the car has been stored as part of a collection ever since.
The vehicle comes with a great collection of paperwork, which includes previous MOT certificates and invoices for previous labour & parts. Also included rather remarkably, are the original Aston Martin V8 owners handbook and instruction manual.

As the vehicle is now eligible for the “classic” status, the V5C document has been sent to the DVLA in order to complete the process, although a copy of the document has been made to reference in the meantime.

The Interior

  • Superb condition
  • Believed to have been restored/ reupholstered
  • Cream leather seats with black piping
  • Classy wooden details
If you were impressed with the exterior of this stunning car, taking a peek inside the cabin will no doubt keep those excitement levels high.

Having very likely been re-upholstered in the past, the interior of this Aston Martin V8 looks spectacular. It presents itself so beautifully that you almost feel guilty sitting down and enjoying the comfort.
All 4 cream leather seats not only look brilliant, but they’re also extremely comfortable and would easily rival comfort levels found in modern alternatives. All trim pieces, carpet, mats, and the headliner follow suit, with no noticeable defects to report.

All dials, gauges, and controls have not only been preserved well but are also in full working order as you can expect from a car in this condition.
In summary, the interior of this vehicle has been re-upholstered to the highest level and continues to present itself fantastically to this day.

It’s exceptionally comfortable and suits the V8 tourer and its nature perfectly.

The Exterior

  • Stunning paintwork
  • Fantastic condition
  • Restored exterior
  • Timeless Aston Martin styling
As the vehicle has likely been restored in the past, it should come as no surprise that this Aston Martin looks absolutely superb.

The gorgeous metallic green paintwork suits the vehicle’s body lines perfectly and helps set this example far higher than plenty of other examples in today's market.
Rather unsurprising given the fantastic paintwork condition, all exterior trim pieces, badging, and details follow suit, with no noticeable signs of age. Likewise, all 4 wheels are also in excellent condition, but could perhaps benefit from a little bit of elbow grease to bring them to their full glory.
There are very few cars that look as timeless and classy as Aston Martins, and this fantastic V8 is no exception.

It’s been well cared for, and will undoubtedly continue to turn heads for many years to come.

The Mechanics

  • Runs brilliantly
  • Hand-assembled 5.4L V8 engine
  • Stainless Steel exhaust
  • Electronic ignition
Buyers will be pleased to know that this impressive Aston Martin starts with a turn of the key and instantly blesses you with that signature V8 growl.

With no mechanical or electrical issues to report, the car is ready to enjoy the open road with its lucky new owner.
The car certainly benefits from being well cared for over the years, having been maintained by the likes of renowned Aston Martin specialist, Rikki Cann.

Although the car is now MOT exempt, the current keeper can also ensure the vehicle comes with a fresh 12 months MOT if desired at the time of sale.

Summary

This stunning Aston Martin V8 is one of the finest examples of the brand’s greatest work yet.

The car is in superb condition both inside and out, runs like a dream, and is one of the few British cars guaranteed to continue to age like fine wine.

If you’re looking for a rare, iconic British classic in excellent condition, look no further than this Oscar India V8.
