1979 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet

Highlights

  • 1570cc H4 engine with 5-speed manual transmission
  • Extensive history file
  • Valid, advisory-free MOT until May 2024

The Appeal

It was in 1948 that Wilhelm Karmann first presented the Beetle Cabriolet. Boasting a few more creature comforts compared to the rather utilitarian car, they were a highly successful variant on one of Europe's most famous cars - and continued production all the way up until 1980.
Stylish, characterful - but incredibly simple - they were much-loved companion for free-spirited summer travel for decades. This particular example captures that essence wonderfully. Its low mileage and solid underbody are a testament to its loving maintenance over the years, while its extensive documentation offers a reassuring insight into its history.
