Highlights
- Completely rebuilt
- Performs and rides brilliantly
- Well maintained example
- Rare specification
The Appeal
The TR7 Tiger followed closely with its Bonneville counterpart of the same era, providing a superb riding experience, packed with character. As time has passed, tidy examples of these classic bikes are becoming rather difficult to obtain, and quirky bikes full of rich history such as this one, are rarer still. If you’re looking for a superb rebuilt example of some of Triumph’s greatest work, complete with a rather unique backstory, this is the bike to add to your collection.
The History and Paperwork
- Fully rebuilt example
- Nigerian Export specification
- Zero former UK owners
- Well maintained
- Garage stored
This Tiger is believed to be one of the few originally exported for use within the Nigerian armed forces, and as such shows off the quirky right-hand gear change. As was the case with a great deal of the original export models, this bike was disassembled and returned to the UK as a box of loose parts.
As an avid motorcycle enthusiast, the current owner took to the challenge, acquiring the loose bike parts, and commencing the rebuild. As the included invoices will show, no expense has been spared while rebuilding the bike, with notable items like a rebuilt engine, new petrol tank, new electrics, rebuilt brakes, and more. Also included with the bike are the V5C document, the first MOT certificate under its new registration, and proof of re-registration as a complete bike once more.

The Exterior
- Excellent condition
- Stripped and rebuilt
- Powder coated frame
- Rebuilt wheels
- New petrol tank
- Original spec Rickman box
This Tiger is in excellent condition for its age, now benefitting from the likes of a powder-coated frame, new exterior components, and repainted items. The bike also shows off a Rickman rear box, which is the correct specification for the original factory option.
There are of course minor signs of age to note, such as condensation to the odometer, visible corrosion to the shocks, and exhaust, but otherwise, there are very few flaws. A new seat, shiny new lights, and a well-cared-for exterior far outweigh any minor signs of age.
This is a bike that never fails to turn heads, and will no doubt fill the lucky new owner with joy upon each glance.
The Mechanics
- Performs without known fault
- Electronic ignition
- Rebuilt engine
- Rebuilt brakes
- New electrics
- Right-hand gear change
Having been stripped down and rebuilt from the ground up, the current owner has left very few stones unturned, treating the bike with a host of mechanical work. Perhaps most notably, the engine and brakes have both been rebuilt, and the bike now benefits from new wiring, along with electronic ignition. As a result, the bike performs without a single known mechanical or electrical fault, and will surely provide hours of fun out on the road.
Summary
This bike presents buyers with the rare chance to own a fully rebuilt TR7 Tiger 750, with a very interesting background. The bike was originally exported for use in Nigeria, and has since returned to the UK, been stripped and built again from the ground up, and is now ready to find a new home. With excellent mechanical health and gorgeous styling, this is a bike you can’t afford to miss.
